Food Liberation

Food Liberation was a minor party in US politics during the years Shrimp Huffington was in charge. The movement was headed by Huffington and his wife Shrimp Scampi as well as other sentient food. The movement's aims were "Foodternity, Foodberty, and Foodquality". The movement is no longer active following events that took place during the Obama Wars. The movement was active globally with the European "Anti-Restaurante Aktion" and South Asian "People's Party for Food Equality and the Advancement of Socialism with Food-ist Characteristics", known as anti-ra and PPFEASFC respectively. During the 2007 Garnish Crisis, the Food Liberation movement was fractured in North America and never fully recovered. This fracture would lead to infighting as Huffington failed to keep the food liberation movement under one banner and many splinter organizations were formed with Food United being the most prominent. The movement ended once Mecha Obama took control of the USA back from Huffington.

History

Foundation and Early Years

After being created in a restaurant, Shrimp Huffington began to rally his fellow living foodstuffs to take up the food rights cause. Particularly the fact that food was eaten was the main cause for the early Food Liberation movement. As it's de facto leader, Huffington founded the United Food Liberation Front to take up the cause of Food Liberation and to spread the message. Early on, the UFLF was plagued by low income and a lack of political message. This led to a period in the organization's history known as "The Issues" where armed foodstuffs began rioting, looting, robbing, and using petrol bombs to spread the message. The attacks were very successful and in 1999 the USA declared the UFLF a terrorist organization and Huffington was #1 on the FBI most wanted list. This period lasted until, in 2003, George W Bush pardoned Huffington and the UFLF agreed to stop all violent operations. Following this period, the UFLF took part in many demonstrations, movements, and publicity stunts to raise awareness. Around this time, the Marxist-Leninist-Maoist-Foodist organization "People's Party for Food Equality and the Advancement of Socialism with Food-ist Characteristics" or "PPFEASFC" was founded by General Tso in China and the party quickly spread to India and Nepal. This organization and the UFLF were closely united until the Sino-American split over the issue of Peppercorns caused these organizations to fall out. in 2005, "Anti-Restaurante Akton" or "Anti-ra" was founded in East-West-South-North Germany to advance the food liberation cause. To date, Anti-ra has accoplished very little other than calling everyone else "Restaurant Owners" and members swear by an upcoming "World food revolution" which has yet to happen and likely never will. In 2006, President-Supreme of the United States and Half Of Mexico George W Bush added the 37th amendment which recognized Sentient Food as a protected minority group under the RESTAURANT Act of 2006.

The Garnish Crisis

On March 16th, 2007, a living hot-dog was killed by 3 sentient parsley sprigs. Although Food on Food Violence was common (Food Fights), this event rocked the living food world and came with debate over the place of Living Garnishes in food society. Shrimp Huffington adopted a strong anti-garnish position, stating famously that "Garnishes, what are they. They're decoration, meant to be picked off and thrown aside. They're not like us". These remarks caused an uproar in the living food community and began the slow and eventual fracturing and decline of the Unified Food Liberation Front, the organization Shrimp Huffington headed before becoming the Secretary of Food for the Obama administration. Major pro-garnish groups like the Garnish Union and Parsley, Pepper, and Parsnip united took up the garnish cause and petitioned for more liberties for garnishes, seasonings, and decorative edible flowers. Huffington's response was to give equal rights to garnishes, however seasonings and decorative flowers were still in a different caste. This cave into the demands of the GU and triple P undermined the power of Huffington and his UFLF, which would never recover. Garnishes are still treated like second class foods in society and that is unlikely to change given the food liberation movement as a whole is now defunct. Anti-ra took even more extreme anti-garnish measures and civil violence was rampant in Germany, Switzerland and especially San Marino. The PPFEASFC fought a brief conflict in northern India and Nepal before fracturing into several smaller organizations with differening goals according to their stances on the Garnish Crisis.

Fracture

Following the Garnish Crisis, Huffington and the UFLF began to decline in popularity as a new generation of food liberationists took over. Furthering the fracture of the already divided UFLF, Huffington had to resign in 2009 to become the head of the Food Rights Department and Sentient Food Task Force under the first administration of Divine President Obama. This hole in leadership was never filled. Huffington's wife, Shrimp Scampi was the de facto leader of the UFLF until part of the organization became United Food, an organization that exists to this day. The UFLF was officially dissolved in 2010 following continued financial trouble. This, along with the demotion of Huffington, marked the end of the Food Liberation movement. Although the Food United organization persists to this day, the wield very little political power and an exceptionally low revenue.
