The Mumble refers to the Mumble server currently running at

History

2015 (The Awakening)

The Mumble was first created in 2015 when the passage in the Dead Sea Scrolls revealing Mumble's divine nature was first successfully translated. It was originally private and running over Hamachi because I was an idiot.

2016-2018 (The Dark Ages)

Discord was beginning to gain popularity. Many of those once faithful were perverted and turned away from the light to live in squalor.

Late 2018 (The Renaissance)

Fed up with Discord, the Voice Room's leadership orchestrated a tactical nuclear strike on itself and fled to the newly reborn Mumble server. The name "Barrel Makers Anonymous" was some dumb joke that came about way too late at night prior to the Voice Room's destruction.

2019-Mid 2020

The Mumble server while very much existing was mostly dormant while the Kong Room continued to grow.

Summer 2020-present (The New Age of Peace)

The Mumble server was rebranded "Not Québec" and made public.

The Name

Most of the public Mumble servers in Canada happen to be hosted in Québec and this one is not. This fact is probably its most defining characteristic.

The Flag

Flag of Québec

Flag of not Québec

After a few months, a flag for the server was created for some reason. Its nature is extremely convoluted, but it is intended to be an opposite of the flag of the Canadian province, Québec. The flag of Québec is blue and white, so their opposites (orange and black) were used on the server's flag. Québec's flag also prominently features a cross pattern, the opposite of which was deemed to be two parallel lines (since the essence of a cross is an intersection). Finally, the four fleurs-de-lis on Québec's flag are meant to symbolize purity, so the flag of not Québec displays seven black flowers meant to represent the seven deadly sins. The justification for the flag's appearance is so esoteric that not one person has been able to understand it without having it explained to them which is what motivated its inclusion on the wiki.

One last thing of note is that the blue on the flag of Québec is meant to represent heaven. Although unintentional, this enhances the flag of not Québec as the act of looking at it is (as far as we can tell) not unlike being in hell.
