The big funny is perhaps the most forced (see Minkus) inside joke to ever exist. It has since suffered a slow, but steady death and is brought up less and less as time goes on. The fact that it saw even moderate success is surprising and perhaps an indication of how far it might have gone had it evolved naturally instead of being artificially injected into the linguistic ecosystem.

An especially dastardly individual might elect to describe something they do not in fact find funny with "Big Funny." This usage was more common than its kinder counterpart and required interlocutors to possess a complete understanding of Big Funny's mechanics.
